Substantial opportunities exist to expand the firm's services within the existing client base, as well as additional opportunities based upon the growth and expansion of businesses within the Charlotte region. The work received from existing clients and the potential growth from new or expanding client needs is significant, and creates the need for the current position, as well as projected needs for future attorney positions with the firm. Growth and responsibilities undertaken with clients also permit a significant degree of responsibility to be given to the firm's associates. The continued growth of the firm creates both the need and the opportunity for further specialization and rapid professional development of the firm's attorneys. Associates with our firm are propelled by the needs of the clients to advance rapidly in their professional development and are able to enjoy the rewards of responsibilities assumed. New associates will have significant client contact and responsibility for case handling. Associates are expected to take responsibility for client development and marketing.

The Firm's Management And Style

Because the firm is small, it places a premium upon its culture of a relaxed and friendly interaction between attorneys and clients and attorneys and staff. Associates are expected to treat staff with respect and courtesy. Associates further enjoy the benefit of a structured workload and regular meetings to determine case progress and to assess attainment of financial goals. Care is taken to avoid unreasonable expectations in terms of workload and interference with family life. Six-day work weeks are the exception and not the norm for associates. At the same time, reasonable billing goals are established for associates to provide incentives and provide for associate progress. Care is also taken to avoid disruptive criticism and environments for the associate. Office systems are in place to minimize mistakes and to support the associate's assumption of responsibility for case handling.
